Fill in the blank

Just wanted to pop in and let everyone know I am still among the living. I have just been blissfully busy as of late and although I want to write a new post, the blank screen stares back at me and my mind goes blank with it.

There are things I wish to say, just can't seem to find the right words. As busy as I have been, there is a peaceful calm to be found in it at the same time. Which is confusing at best when you think about it.  My mind races and my thoughts are swirled, but at the same time there is clarity amidst the chaos.  Such a strange state of affairs, as one I have never quite encountered before.

A dear friend of mine has also received the most smashingly brilliant news as well. I will be celebrating with her even though distance divides us. All my best.

    That empty posting screen can really mess with your head sometimes. I've been known to write pages of blasphemy before finally knuckling down to get what I want hammered out.

    I know how that feels. When I'm in the mood to write, sometimes all I can manage is a blank screen, too. In that case, I'll post a picture of a man humping a fish.

The old saying " Give a man a fish, he'll eat for the day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. " has to do with teaching someone to do something. But what if they don't want to learn? It can be frustrating for anyone, how you can make something so easy for someone else to do and yet they still manage to screw it up. I know a few people in life like this. You can give them specific, written directions to follow, step 1, step 2, step 3 and so on... everything but hold their hand or do it for them. They still manage to blow it. Bad Pixie? Yep, that's me!

I have recently found a website that is authored by a woman who is dealing with how her life has been changed following her husbands traumatic brain injury. In reading through her notations of his behavior, outbursts, threats, and several other issues she has come to deal with as they present themselves, I can't help but notice the profound number of similarities between her husband and someone I know very well. The one major difference is the timing of the occurrance of the brain injury. Her husband behaves this way as a result of his brain injury. The person I know behaves the way they do and may recieve a brain injury (think frying pan to the head) as a result. Although I would never do it, believe me, some days it is mighty tempting...
